What "Sale" and "Sharing" Mean
Under California law:
- "Sale" means disclosing personal information to a third party in exchange for monetary or other valuable consideration.
- "Sharing" means disclosing personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.
As a lead generation service, when you submit your information through our websites (American Debt Path or Defend My Status), we share your information with third-party service providers (debt settlement firms, immigration attorneys, etc.) who pay us a fee. This may constitute a "sale" under California law.
What Information May Be Sold or Shared
- Contact information (name, phone, email, address)
- Financial or case-related information you provide in our assessment quizzes
- Online identifiers used for targeted advertising (cookies, ad IDs)
Your Right to Opt Out
You have the right to direct us to stop selling or sharing your personal information. When you opt out:
- We will no longer share your information with new third-party service providers for lead generation purposes
- We will no longer share your information with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising
- We may still share information as needed for non-sale purposes (e.g., to complete a transaction you initiated, for legal compliance)

- We will process your request within 15 business days
- We will confirm your opt-out via email
- Your information will no longer be sold or shared going forward
- We cannot undo sharing that occurred before your request
- Service providers who already received your information are subject to their own privacy policies

Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA/CPRA rights. We will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide lesser quality because you opted out.
Authorized Agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit an opt-out request on your behalf. The agent must provide proof of authorization (signed permission or power of attorney). We may also verify your identity directly.
